Golfing With Arthritis and Joint Pain
We Baby Boomers have a love affair with golf, but as we get older aches & pains become more prevalent and can impact our enjoyment of the game. Arthritis is the #1 challenge we all face as we get older and the first place we tend to notice joint pain is in our hands. Golf grip companies have made huge advancements in grip materials which can help those of us that experience pain hitting golf balls. The term “Arthritic Golf Grip” has been thrown around quite liberally lately by golf grip marketers as a panacea for arthritic hands. The truth...
Coolest Products from the 2019 PGA Merchandise Show.
The marketing hype by equipment companies and golf bloggers was in overdrive last week in Orlando, FL at the annual PGA Merchandise Show! Said to be the Super Bowl of the golf industry, we would argue its more like the NFL Draft, as you really won't know what you've got until you put it in play for an extended period of time. We read through as much online coverage as possible over the weekend to come up with our Top 10 Coolest Looking Products. Note, we said "coolest looking", not the best ever, not the longest, straightest, softest, lowest scoring,...

As you can see from the graph, there is a direct correlation between swing speed and distance. You will also notice how drastically different the swing speeds are between tour players and average amateur golfers. The table below shows a further breakdown between...
Sphera Pro Threes Golf Ball Review
Sphera is Latin for "Ball" and is the impetus behind, yet another, direct to consumer golf ball company. By cutting out distributors, not paying for retail shelf space or sponsoring tour players, these upstart ball companies have been able to bring the consumer a pro tour ball at a fraction of the cost of the big boys. Sphera is a company shrouded in a bit of a mystery as their website offers very little information on the company or its products. Their offerings are a 4 piece ball called the Pro Fours and a 3 piece called, you guessed it,...
Callaway Mack Daddy PM Grind Sand Wedge Review
We took a chipping lesson earlier in the year and caught a bit of flack about our outdated wedges, so we decided to up our game a bit. The ribbing we took actually coincided with another blog post we wrote on older wedges losing their ability to spin the ball, so it was clearly time for an upgrade. (See Blog Post Here) The first new wedge we purchased was a Callaway Mack Daddy PM Grind 58/10 sand wedge to replace our current Cobra 56* wedge. We thought we would do a review for those interested in this unique grind for...
